Perspective is a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view.
Life has its ups and downs. But, how you respond to those ups and downs depend on your perspective.
There are two main perspectives people often have in life.
- The "OMG of course this would happen to me" perspective that completely ruins your self-esteem and self-worth. This perspective mainly consists of labeling every single thing in your life as "good" or "bad". This consistent labeling blocks you from being able to acquire day-to-day- lessons, blessings, and overall drains your happiness. This type of perspective is very hard to break out of due to the hole that is continuously dug deeper, and deeper each time something "bad" happens.
- The "okay. This is just one small bump in the road. Life goes on" perspective that encourages self-growth as well as brings in organic happiness. This perspective is certainly the golden ticket to a less miserable and negative life. Any adversity that is thrown your way can be addressed, assessed, and processed! No labeling the "good" or "bad" because everything is seen as a learning experience.
So, you're probably wondering what to do if you commonly identify with having perspective #1. Don't worry. Notice that I mentioned those are two main perspectives people often have. In other words, they can contain both of them. In fact, most people DO contain both of those perspectives as well as bit in between or on a more extreme level.
How you see and retain events or obstacles that occur in your life determine your happiness. We are all in control of our perspective.
"How can I keep a clear and #2 perspective?"
Remove negative energy from your life. It is only holding you back from your clear and positive perspective on life.
Remove toxic relationships from your life. How can you authentically be yourself while dealing with a relationship that is draining your mental health?
Be present. Show up. Be yourself.
It is no secret that keeping a positive mindset is in fact hard and takes TIME as well as EFFORT. You cannot expect change or results if you're not putting in the time and effort that is needed to fit your expected outcome.
Take things one day at a time. Each day improve your perspective.
You can improve your perspective on anything. Relationships, school, work, waking up every morning, going to the gym, ANYTHING. Your thoughts, ideas, moods, emotions, are all controlled by your MIND. No one has control over your perspective and as soon as you realize that your life will change.
